CURRENT PROJECT: POWERFUL ASIAN MOMS

Powerful Asian Moms is a full-color, 200+ page anthology of creative nonfiction prose, poetry, illustration, and photography celebrating Asian mothers. Specifically, it is an exploration of the ways Asian mothers around the world embody individual power.

Powerful Asian Moms is a project by independent publisher Spill Stories, which promotes personal stories for a nuanced world. The anthology showcases stories from over 40 contributors who share personal stories about themselves or their mothers, with heritages ranging across Chinese-Malaysian, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, Indian, Thai, and Hawaiian. This project, managed by a team spread across Hong Kong, Seoul, the US, and South Africa, features stories from writers spread across many countries / regions, including the States (around half of the stories), Hong Kong, Australia, UK, Taiwan, The Netherlands, and South Korea). The stories are in English, with half of them including an accompanying translation in the mother tongue of the writers' mothers. These translations include stories in Traditional + Simplified Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, and Thai.
